Post Huit- Sponsorship

Sponsorship

‘Sponsorship is a mutually beneficial arrangement that consist of the provision of resources of funds, goods and/or services…in return for a set of rights that can be used in communications activity, for the achievements of objectives for commercial gain.’
Masterman, Guy (2007) Sponsorship for a return on investment, London: Elsevier

To sponsor something is to support an event, activity, person, or organization financially or through the provision of products or services. There are three types of sponsor.
  • Cooperate
  • Trust and foundation
  • Individual

Being a sponsor gives you a competitive advantage it helps awareness of your product, helps build the image of the product, and then helps to develop and maintain the relationship between customer and product.

The country Living Fair has 3 sponsors.

Drake

After looking all over the web seeing if I could find a sponsor for his world tour, I found out that he has no sponsorship for an artist to have a sponsor they had to be an extremely large name and because drake only target one genre of music he is not well known enough to be sponsored. The venues that he will play at will most likely be sponsored.
